Welcome to the Reef Guardians App – an interactive visual library of the stunning and captivating marine life commonly seen while snorkeling in Hawaii! The project was funded through the CARES Act by the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Reef Guardians Hawaii. The app uses the latest in online technologies to present and organize marine life species and to help children and adults alike learn about them. Navigate between different offshore environments to browse through the creatures that live there, including fish, coral, invertebrates, mammals, reptiles and seabirds. Refine your results by color, size and habitat. Once you’ve located the species you’re looking for, learn its English, Hawaiian and scientific name. Then share with your friends on social media! After using the app, be sure to protect the ocean with your everyday actions.
